Ayurvedic Anatomy and Physiology
Though most of the basic concepts of human anatomy and physiology are shared with modern anatomy and physiology there are a few concepts that are unique to ayurveda like prakriti/vikruti and the mind which is never considered anything separate from the body. Ayurveda also looks in detail into the concept of dhatus, tissues which carry circulatory pathways called shrotas. The health of the bodily system is dependent on circulation of nourishment therefore digestive system is given considerable attention in ayurveda. Starting from understanding the role of doshas, the bio-energies governing every function of any living entity this journey of learning brings a fresh insight into our life carrying vessels.
