I highly recommend the Jivita Ayurveda Retreat at Wraxall Yard in the beautiful West Dorset countryside.  Having been diagnosed with MS, I wanted to manage my life better and achieve a sense of well-being.  Over three wonderful days I settled into a calming routine of gentle exercise, peaceful meditations and delicious seasonal food.  Highlights were Anu’s healing massages and a fascinating nature walk guided by Nick Read, founder of Wraxall Yard.  All in all it was an amazing and transformative three days. The Jivita Ayurveda retreat is the real deal when it comes to detox packages and is supported by Anu’s wealth of knowledge and experience. I was suffering burnout from work/ life and she provided a wonderful haven that provided me with a really solid reset, I saw so many physical and mental benefits in my 12-day retreat and even after the retreat finished. Anu was fantastic and provided a tailored plan of treatments, food, exercise and lifestyle tips. Treatments are twice daily and the quality was superb, the first treatment was as good as the last. Anu deliberately does not oversubscribe the retreat so that there is high degree of personal attention as she monitors your progress from day to day. The retreat centre is beautiful, clean and fully equipped and surrounded by nature (rolling hills, woodland, a babbling stream), which was great to walk in each day, and was part of the healing experience. I cannot thank Anu enough, this was the health reset that I needed and I left equipped to put what I learned into my daily life. I also completed the Jivita Ayurveda Therapist course and I am completing Ayurvedic Nutritionist training, I also highly recommend these courses too.

A Typical Day At Our Ayurveda Retreat

A typical day might consist of

  • 6am wake up and morning routines (intake of water and herbal medication)
  • Exercise (appropriate to the condition)
  • 7am Massage therapies
  • Personal hygiene routines
  • 9am Light breakfast  
  • Classes, Walks, Self-Study
  • 1pm Lunch (as per individual needs)
  • Nap
  • Afternoon activities (e.g. classes, yoga nidra, light movement, arts)
  • 5pm Light supper 
  • Evening Yin Yoga, pranayama, meditation
  • Lights off 10pm
